About 

Introduced in 1998 the handicap league instantly proved popular. The races are almost all based around The Plough Inn in Hollym which allows for running on quiet country lanes and post race socialising..

League Structure

This year there are 10 races in total, starting in late February or early March and ending in September..

The majority of races are held on training nights, currently Tuesday.

All the races are between 4 miles and 10km. 

The winner will be the runner who finishes the furthest under their handicap time (set by the handicapper).

Starts are staggered, the slower runners usually starting earliest and due to the handicapping everyone has an equal chance of winning.

Points System

Points are awarded to the top 6 finishing positions as follows

1st 6 points

2nd 4 points

3rd 3 points

4th 2 points

In addition 1 point goes to everyone else who finishes.
